Biodiversty Representation Lacks Data

QCVA is working with the Pacific Marinelife Institute Marine Alliance to assist marine tourism operators understand the Australian Government's plans for a network of marine biodiversity conservation zones in Commonwealth waters along the State. This also involves preparing submissions on behalf of the charter boat industry and playing a role in representing the marine tourism sector in discussions with the Commonwealth Government. What is evident is the lack of catch/dive/sighting/trip data the charter fishing industry has available to use in its representation. If you can assist with trip and catch data to assist in support the case for continued sustainable access and ways the industry can be involved in co-stewardship of the marine reserves, then the Marine Alliance Team would like to hear from you.
